Coach Carol answers the question “Is a vegan diet healthy?”

Vegan For Your Health

I got lucky with this diet. Because the one that saves animals also happens to be the one that protects our health.

There is no other diet proven to reduce our risk of every major deadly disease other than a whole-food, plant-based diet. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a vegan diet is not only healthy but also lowers our risk of every major chronic illness, including heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes.

You read that right!

Vegans Live Longer

It is now a scientific fact that vegans live longer than meat eaters. One of the largest nutrition studies ever conducted, The China Study, concluded that a plant-based diet was always associated with lower mortality.

And, according to the World Cancer Research Fund, vegans are up to 40% less likely to get cancer in their lifetime. Meat and dairy products actually feed cancer cells, helping them grow and spread. Conversely, whole plant foods are loaded with antioxidants and fiber, among many other nutrients, which are cancer fighters.

Vegans weigh less, have lower cholesterol levels, fewer heart attacks, less cancer, and even stronger bones. I’m not saying you’ll never have to deal with a health issue as a vegan. But the odds are strongly in your favor, so why roll the dice?

There is simply no reason to consume animal foods. They do not benefit our health, and in fact, cause us harm.
